Celebrate Easter Sunday Like the Greeks! Meat Glorious Meat!

Easter is the most celebrated feast in Greek culture. Good Friday is seen as an extremely solemn day within the Greek Orthodox Calendar in which everyone mourns the death of Christ. In respect of this, everyone, religious or not, fasts for the whole day – this seems like the right thing to do considering what happens next!

Easter Sunday celebrates the resurrection of Christ – and they certainly celebrate! It is the carnivorous FEAST after the fast and the largest meal of the year! The meat predominantly used is Lamb – and let’s just say none of it goes to waste.

  • Ovelia: Whole Roast Lamb on a spit
  • Lamb intestines wrap around the liver and is roasted on the spit
  • Pork Tenderloin is also roasted
  • Magiritsa soup – chopped Lamb’s intestine and liver

Oh Meet Glorious Meat, what a great debut weekend Steak on Stones has enjoyed! Thank you to everyone that has come to visit and we are glad that you are leaving with meat filled tummies!

Steak on Stones offers a unique dining experience that allows you to ‘take the bull by the horns’ and discover your inner chef. From the reviews we have had so far, our guests have been relishing the chance to show off their culinary skills and have really embraced the concept. Whether you want your meat cooked right through or practically still mooing, the lava stone is in your hands (obviously not literally!) What is even more pleasing to us is that you love the food: Meat, sides, sauces, doughnut’s, the lot!
